What is a Paramedical Exam?

Once you have submitted an application for insurance through your agent, an insurance company needs medical information about you, the applicant. A certified medical professional gathers this information during a paramedical examination. The medical professional will ask you questions about your medical history and record your blood pressure, pulse, height and weight. The insurance company may also require an EKG, urine sample, blood sample or a saliva sample. The exam will last approximately 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the length of your medical history.

Appointments

After submitting your application for insurance through your agent, the agent submits a paramed request to Ivy Wellness. An Ivy Wellness representative will contact you, the applicant, directly to schedule the exam. Depending on your preference and availability, paramed exams can be completed at our Valdosta, GA clinic, or you can schedule your exam in the comfort of your home or office. Mobile exams services are available in Atlanta and all surrounding cities, Valdosta, Tifton, & Thomasville, Georgia, as well as Tallahassee and Jacksonville, Florida.

Confidentiality

Any and all information obtained by the medical professional during a paramed exam is strictly confidential. Blood, urine, and saliva specimens collected during the exam provide information about your health to the underwriters. All specimen testing is performed by a laboratory.
